Day 24 – Taghazout – fifth day

After a leisurely breakfast we walked to the local village with Eddie & Carol to try and pick up some supplies. The walk took us along the beach and across some stones and up into the village. It wasn’t very far and we then had a look around a few of the shops … there weren’t many in the village to see. Bought some water, bread and potatoes. The rest we will buy tomorrow when we go to the market in the nearest city, Agadir.
We crossed the road and had some coffee in a restaurant and at about 12:00 we started to look for some transport back to camp. After some negotiations we paid 30dh for a bus ride for the four of us. We got back just in time for me to watch Bournemouth play Liverpool in the FA Cup live on ITV. John and I watched the game on my laptop and not surprisingly we lost 2-0.
Later in the afternoon we had the water bowser fill the van with water at a cost of 20dh (approx. £1.50). Some of the guys had been collecting wood for an evening get together around a camp fire. So our Beer O’Clock was relocated to a sandy area where we lit a fire and the fun began. It was lovely as the sun went down on another hot day in Morocco. The sunset promised another warm day tomorrow.
As we finished for the night it was announced that bacon buttes were to be served at 10:00am in the morning. The joys of camping.
