Day 23 – Florence

Quiet day today. We started out at 10:30 and drove the remaining distance of around 30 miles to a parking place next to a sports stadium.There were a few vans already there when we arrived. Both our vans needed to find the els an point so we looked around the area but could find nothing. There is a drinking water tap in the park behind where we are.

We could not last another day without emptying the loo so we looked up another Aire about a mile away and made our way there. We found the services and helped ourselves to the facilities without making and payment and then returned to our original parking place.

This afternoon the two men travelled into the city on the scooter to buy a data sim card to gain access to the internet and visit the Tourist Information office for a visitor map. The city was full of one-way streets and to find your way around was very confusing. However we did achieve our goals albeit we took rather longer than expected.

We have discussed the idea of buying tickets for the open top city tour tomorrow but will make a decision in the morning when we see what the weather for the day looks like. Probably stay here at least another night unless we are moved on…. not really likely though. The parking place is basic but with no costs thus allowing us to spend our money on other things.
