Day 29 – Rome

For the last 2 days we have been enjoying free facilities, parking, water, elsan & even electricity. So this morning we filled with water, emptied the loo and set off for our chosen site.
We were in a dilemma because I had an ACSI card which allowed me on Camping Tiber campsite for €18 per night but Colin had not renewed in 2014. The price for him would be €29.50. Therefore we decided to try elsewhere hoping that it would be cheaper. We set the sat nav for our destination calling in at Lidl on the way.
We arrived at a Motorhome storage site with a large sliding security door. After being let in we were informed that the price was €20 per night with electric. There were no other facilities. We ate lunch and had a discussion and decided to go to Camping Tiber and hope to \’blag\’ a cheaper price for Colin. This site has a restaurant, swimming pool etc.
When we arrived I showed my ASCI card and Colin showed the reverse of his expired 2012 card. We then proceeded to all book in together and all got the cheaper price. Result!!
This evening we got chatting to more Brits staying on the site and enjoyed a pleasant few hours drinking and exchanging experiences.
Tomorrow we plan to catch the train into Rome and buy tickets for the city tour bus. Looking forward to a day seeing the historical sights.
