Day 36 – Bolzano

It was a very warm night last night. According to the camper dashboard it was 25°C at 11pm. It stayed like that all night.

We serviced the van and were soon off to the Apple store I have visited twice before. After some work on the laptop it was determined that there was nothing that could be done in the short term so it looks like a claim against the company I bought my hard drive from as I only bought it in October last year.

On returning to the van it was midday and the temperature according to the dash was 43°C. Another hot day in front of us. We travelled along the toll roads as it made a significant difference to the time we spent travelling. We are now in a public car park with services across the road. In the official parking area it is €1 per hour. Across the road…free. Guess where we are.

Tomorrow we leave Italy and enter Austria using the non toll route over the mountains. We both hope it might be cooler. We are all suffering from the heat including the 2 dogs.

Our lasting thoughts about Italy are
  1. Love the scenery
  2. The people have been very friendly and in the main have tried to speak English
  3. The aires network is not so well established and therefore paying for somewhere to stay has been frequent than usual
  4. The temperatures have been consistently hot since coming over the Alps
  5. There are still people determined to steal from you wherever you are….avoid the metro in Rome
  6. It was nice meeting and travelling with friends
