Day 54 – Safi

We left today around our usual time and travelled the 140km up to Safi. The journey took us along the coast road that we travelled last year. The scenery is stunning with waves breaking over the rocks and some coastal beaches that would have been good to use for wild camping if we could find a spot. The end of the journey as we approached Safi we were passing some industrial plants one of which was a phosphates complex.
Once set up and lunch taken we got the washing machine out to catch up on an overflowing washing basket. The wind was gusting and so it didn’t take long for the majority to dry. Tina once again did too much and suffered with her ankles and legs so much so that she was in bed before 9pm with additional pain relief.
We have taken the decision to spend a couple of days here and enjoy the sunshine and not having to travel. Not sure when we will move on up the coast nor how far the next stage will take us… its all part of the adventure.
The site has some very loud peacocks roaming and once again dogs that continued to bark most of the evening. Lets hope that they don’t continue into the night and keep us awake like Essaouira.
