Day 21 – Tiznit (washing day)
This was the day we needed to prepare for our time off grid i.e. no electrics so we needed to have all the washing done and the van fully serviced ready for the following week when we will be in Tafroute.
The electrician came in the morning to look at the inverter. He fairly soon decided that he couldn’t fix it in the van but had to take it away. He informed me that he would return in the morning at 10:00am but I wanted to get him back later in the day because we were moving on in the morning. I lost the conversation and it was agreed that he would return at the appojnted time. I started to worry when he cut off the metal connectors so he could feed the wires back through the surrounding wood partition. I am sure it will all be right in the end. The small inverter worked fine last night so whatever happens I will be OK for the rest of the trip. Note to self: Get a spare inverter or a 12v lead so that this situation is avoided in the future.
Whilst all this was going on Tina was getting on with the washing using the machine I had dragged out of our garage earlier. She did all our washing from the last week together with sheets and towels. The line was overflowing however there was a warm breeze and it was soon dry making room for more.
During the afternoon we sat with Brian & Ann and enjoyed the sun, warmth and banter. Later we all got together outside of Robert & Phyllis van where they put some music on. Tina and I tried “Touch on” but it wasn’t very successful. We also tried the stick game and this caused some laughs. It was a little warmer than the previous evening so we stayed out later.
Tomorrow we are of to Tafroute
