Day 22 – Tafroute
Up and ready for the electrician to arrive at 10:00am. He arrived soon after the allotted time and set to and refitted my inverter. It seemed to work when he left but later in the evening I tried it and I had flickering lights or nothing. Perhaps a loose wire so will need to investigate in the morning.
After we paid our fees of 80 MAD per night and serviced the van we were soon on our way. We filled up at the fuel station just up the road and bought some bread which looked more like a pizza base. The girl was pulling it out of the oven in front of us. A little more expensive but very tasty.
Our journey took us through spectacular scenery and we climbed up the mountains to over 3000 feet. It was still very warm even at this height. In the morning I obtained the co-ordinated for the painted rocks from another Funster and we stopped here for lunch. A great photo opportunity for our newbies.
We drove down into the small town of Tafroute and out the other side to find the Guardian parking site we had used a year before. Our little group were soon placed to take advantage of any sun with an area where we could socialise. Kettle was soon on the boil for a welcome cuppa.
It became very cool as the sun went down. Warmer clothes obtained we sat out and chatted for a while and at around 9:00pm we all said good night.
This really is a great place at an exceptionally cheap price 10MAD (70p). Everyone was most impressed…. tomorrow will bring more surprises when we go into town.
