Day 14 – Villajoyosa
Our day started with a planned visit to the Expats Cash & Carry for their English breakfast. I ordered the standard breakfast and Tina had a bacon sandwich both with a mug of coffee….all for around €6. We were really disappointed as the sausages were luke warm and overall the quality was not great. It certainly does not compare with our usual haunt in Andover – Too Fast to Filling. Overall I don’t think we will be doing this again which was disappointing.
Next we needed to visit a large supermarket for some supplies. We chose Lidl near Benidorm. You certainly know what to expect from this chain of supermarkets whether you are in England or Europe. We stocked up on the essentials including some pastries which can’t be resisted. Close by was a Carrefour with a fuel station. I took the opportunity to fill up at €1.15 per litre which is just a little over £1 per litre. I still don’t understand how diesel is cheaper that petrol in Europe yet is more expensive in the UK. The government encouraged us all to switch to diesels and then hiked the price. Politics I guess.
The rest of the day consisted of a shower and beard trim, watching our series and relaxing…
This evening the wind is getting up and might cause some concern during the night….more tomorrow
