Day 15 – Villajoyosa
This morning I decided to get the ‘bus’ sorted out. We had a low tyre pressure warning come up on the dashboard during the last couple of days so I thought that we had better get it checked out. Did some research and found a Tyre fitting place just along from the Expats Cash & Carry where we had breakfast on Tuesday.
I asked them to check the tyre pressures on the rear and I was soon on my way… no charge. Tina had stayed back in the caravan and was doing her tidying session. I then made my way into town to find a cash point. I went to the first bank and they wanted to charge me €1.85 for the privilege so I went and found another bank just 20 metres away and there was no charge. Success.
On getting back to the campsite I started to look up in the handbook how to clear the warning sign we had been getting. It talked about a button in the glove box but there was no such button. Eventually I figured out it must be changeable in the dashboard settings. Soon had the brown warning sign gone.
We continued to watch our series in the late afternoon and evening after Tina had done some washing and I helped with putting it on the line. We also took the opportunity to attach the storm guides to the awning as the wind was increasing and we could feel the effects on the caravan. We tied the guys to the trees on the pitch rather than use the pegs which I was concerned would pull out.
The wind continued to get stronger the later it became and we are concerned that we might lose it during the night. I suspect we will make a decision in the morning whether we take it down. Currently we are getting very little sun as we have a huge American RV next to us blocking the rays however it is also giving us some protection from the wind.
Let\’s hope we don’t have to get up in the night to rescue the awning …. Let you know tomorrow.
