Day 17 Cartagena

Today we packed the van for travelling and then said our sad good byes to our friends who have booked for a further 2 nights and had made no plans after that. When leaving the UK we thought that we might be travelling together and ultimately visiting Morocco again. Sadly this isn\’t going to happen unless they change their minds.

We had in mind to travel to an Aire with full facilities outside of Cartagena. The journey was easy as it was fast dual carriageway for practically all of the journey. We arrived at our destination only to be told they were full. On asking we were able to get the receptionist to call another Aire close by to find out if they have space and it was confirmed they did. Next we looked for a supermarket to buy some provisions for the weekend and then off to find the alternative site.

The Aire was attached to a service station that had many facilities including an automatic and hand car washing bays. We decided to stay and avail ourselves of the electric included and booked for 2 nights.

I set up our Amazon Firestick to the TV so I could watch the premiership football match between Aston Villa and Leeds United. This was a test run to see if I will be able to stream the Bournemouth match tomorrow evening. It was a great success… the quality of the images was superb. I do hope it will be the same tomorrow.
