Day 19 Almeria
We were on our travels south again today heading towards an ACSI site called \”Camping La Garrofa\”. First we filled with fuel at the adjacent fuel station and was offered the opportunity to wash the Van. I declined thinking that I might give an opportunity for some moroccans to earn some cash. We were soon on the road avoiding tolls. The distance was the same but just a disparity in time taken…. we\’re in no hurry so we took the lengthier time route.
We arrived at the site which is in a ravine running down to the sea. It is quite sloping but the pitches are relatively flat. There are one or two places that are parked on the front with a continuous view of the sea. We are parked 3 Vans up from the entrance to the beach which is only about 10-15 metres from our door. Tina has fallen in love with the place. The sound of the waves is very soothing. She has described this place like living on an island with cliffs and sea all around.
We took a walk along the beach in the afternoon and spoke to some of the fellow campers. It seems that many of them have been here some time and probably return each year.
Look forward to tomorrow relaxing with the sound of the waves in the background.
