Day 28 Oualidia
We woke early this morning before the sun was up. We are on the move and want to be ready to go at around 10:30am. After paying our dues we were on the road at around the allotted time. We plan to use toll roads to go around Casablanca and then use the non-toll roads along the coast knowing it would take longer but the scenery would be better. It was the first real chance for Eric & Annie to see some of the villages and minor roads…. they loved it.
At 3pm we arrived at the guardian parking we have used many times before albeit it was 7+ years ago. No sooner had we pulled in and all of the vendors were trying to sell us a Tagine for tonight. Tina was keen as she didn\’t want to cook but I remember Ali from our last visit and how superb the Tagine he sold us was so that is what I wanted. We tried to politely refuse but in the end we had to be firm with our No response.
At around 4:30pm a man on his replica Honda 50 pulled up. It was Ali so we ordered a Chicken Tagine (120MAD) for 7pm tonight. He also easily persuaded us to be a cake (50MAD) to be delivered at the allotted time.
As promised the Tagine and cake were delivered at the agreed time. The Tagine was as good as I had remembered from all those years ago. Highly recommend Ali and his wife, the cook.
