Day 31 Sidi Kaouki
We had a full day ahead of us so we were up early so we could be on the road soon after 10am. After paying for our camping for the night at 42MAD which approximates to €4 (which includes electric) we were on our way. The journey to Essaouira was going to be about 2 hours. We wanted to maximise our time looking around the various shops and having lunch.
We were able to find parking close to the Medina / Port in one of the side streets. We unloaded the mobility scooter and proceeded into the main street. Got some very strange looks as it was obvious that they had not seen many mobility scooters before. We looked for the restaurant in a small square where we had lunch twice before on previous visits. Eventually we found the right place and sat in the sun and ordered lunch. The men had Couscous and the ladies had different varieties of Tagines. We completed our meal with a desert washed down with coffees and a soft drink. It was a delightful way of enjoying the lunchtime sun with good company.
We left Eric & Annie to go off and explore the shops and meet us back at the vans. We all left at 4pm to make our way to a campsite as there was nowhere to park overnight as there had been on previous visits. It took around 30mins before we turned into the campsite but it wasn\’t the one we had chosen before setting out. Oh well its only for one night.
Tomorrow we are travelling to Marrakesh and find a supermarket which if I recall there are a few large ones in the city.
