Day 47 Tafraoute

This morning was not as cold first thing mainly because the sky was overcast. On checking the forecast it was showing very little sun and showers…. which is going to be repeated for the next few days. I checked whether it would be any better further east in the direction we intend to travel but everywhere seems to be forecasted the same. If anything Spain is slightly worse so its no good taking a quick dash for the exit.

After a leisurely breakfast of cornflakes (we\’ve run out of wheat-a-bix and can\’t find any in the shops) we got ourselves ready for a trip into town. First to the post office to withdraw some cash followed by a visit to the Maroc shop. On Saturday week I bought some recharges for our SIM card through an app on my phone however I didn\’t get any of the required codes so I wanted to see if I can get then now. However, I failed and we are £60 worse off… I will know for next time.

Further down the road we bought some items from our shopping list. The young chap spoke really good English and when asked where did he learn our language the response came back from Netflix and Youtube. Remarkable!!

On Saturday we visited a fabrication shop to build us a trolley that Tina could stand on and I could pull her along on the scooter. He made a cracking job all for 600MAD (approx £52). In the UK we tried various places to have one made or buy something from the internet but never had any luck. Not perfect but certainly it saved Tina walking…

We then found a restaurant and the four of us sat and had a meal. Between us there were 3 tagines, Cheese omelette. 2 chips, 5 coffees and 2 cokes all for 240MAD. At just over £20 what a bargain. Getting to the restaurant Tina stood on her rolling platform and it worked great albeit has no suspension and shook her to bits !!

On exiting the restaurant the showers had set in and we got soaked getting back to the van but was a very enjoyable few hours.
