Day 67 Marrakesh

Today was going to be a long day and so it turned out. We left Skoura soon after 10am and our first job was to fill with diesel in Ouarzazate. We had already emptied our grey and black tanks and we were devoid of freshwater but we will fill our tank at the next campsite.

Finding a fuel station was no challenge but we could possibly have found one cheaper but at just over £1 a litre it would be pennies different. Our journey was going to take us up the mountain and over the top where it had already snowed. Fortunately the roads were perfectly clear and the pass gates were open. There were a number of spots where they had and continue to improve the road. The road surface was much better and many of the curves had been straightened. I really enjoy driving on this type of road.

We were heading for a large supermarket as we needed many supplies as we were almost out of everything so we found a Marjane. Vegetables, Meat, Bread, Cheese, Toilet rolls and lots of other things later and we were on to our campsite which would be the one we used last time we were in Morocco. Filled the freshwater and placed ourselves in the spot we were directed to only to then have a complaining frenchman complain we were too close. Both he and I are only here for 1 night so put up with it….

Tina decided to browse the small gift shop that had clothes and trinkets. Mistake!!! She came back in to the van saying how do you like this …. the dress she was wearing. She had told the guardian that she had paid 150MAD (£12.50) for the last one so no hope of bargaining the price…of course we bought it. She had also spotted a carpet that would go perfectly in our hallway the only problem was the price…. 2000MAD or £167. He was going to allow us to pay on a card. I explained we have no need for a carpet in our hallway so we left it.

Although there was free WIFI the speed was almost at snail pace so we were both in bed early ready for the journey tomorrow
