Day 2 Pont De l’arche

Our friends came over and said he wanted to find a Kwik Fit to fix his exhaust as the rear clap had snapped. So I followed him into the centre of Canterbury where we had to wait an hour or so because they did not stock the correct size for his exhaust.

It wasn’t long before we made our way to Eurotunnel in Folkestone. The system to check pets in has changed since the last time we were here. The pet reception is no part of the main building. After checking in Tucker we were told to immediately make our way to passport control as we were now booked on the 13:50 pm train instead of 15:20. After getting through passport control which seemed particularly busy we made our way around to the isles for loading the trains. Luck was on our side because we were allowed to board the next train due to leave 30 minutes before the revised time.

Now we were well ahead of our original estimated times when we hit Calais we thought we would put some miles under us. The journey was not pleasant as there were strong winds and persistent rain throughout so it made for a very tiring time.

When we arrived at 18:30 it was dark and we were both tired but at least we had covered some distance. The evening saw me watching the final of the darts. I felt so sorry that the sixteen year old Luke didn’t win but he will get another chance over the coming years.
