Week 1 Day 2
What a night !! Definitely don’t want to go through that again.
I did try and get some sleep but by 2am I must have snored so much that I had a raging sore throat. I decided that laying down in bed was not helping my airway so I went and sat in the drivers seat and then started to doze. Didn’t get any more sleep for the rest of the night. I decided that we should try and get away early if we are going home for my machine. I woke Tina up at around 6am with her usual cuppa …she was not impressed but understood.
We left the site at 8am to travel the 140 miles. We arrived home at 11am having been in some traffic which is only to be expected as it’s the start of the bank holiday. Back on the road again after only a few minutes. I took the trouble of topping off the fuel as we were passing Tesco. £66 was the cost of our mistake but I couldn’t have carried on without it.
Our trip to Fraisthorpe was 250 miles and we encountered many hold ups and slow traffic. We stopped for 30 mins at Donnington services like the previous day. We arrived at our destination at 6:30pm. A very long day and very tiring. Tina was suffering with her back so we had a very light meal (couldn’t ask her to cook) before she retired to bed where she could make herself comfortable.
Fraisthorpe is a large undulating field next to the beach. I was expecting many more units than they have. We have access to the beach to take Woody for a run and the views are terrific.
A very long and tiring day but we are back on track and I am looking forward to a good nights sleep.
