Day 49 Tata
It rained again last night and we had showers this morning. Our batteries were down to 50% and our power packs (Jackery & EcoFlow) were depleted so the decision was made to move on. The forecast for the next couple of days showed no change from the overcast and showery weather we have been experiencing for the past 3 days. We needed electricity so its off to Tata.
We visited the municipal site in the past but that was apparently closed now so the satnav set for the site on the north side of the town.As we pulled out of the Tafraoute site we crossed a small stream of water approximately 9 inches deep that hadn\’t been there when we arrived on Thursday last week.
The route that was set took us over the mountains and we have temperatures down to zero degrees and driving snow. On the highest points of the route the snow was settling and we were driving through up to 2 inches of snow …. the scenery was fantastic. As we came down off the mountains the temperature went back to a balmy 7 degrees.
We found the site in Tata but there were no electric spots available. We could park if we didn\’t want electric. Our batteries were now full but part of the reason for wanting electricity was so that we didn\’t freeze again in the van as we have been doing. We could have the electric heating and hot water on and be warm and dry things out. So we left and retraced our steps to find the site we passed on the way in to town which is part of a hotel. They had space and electric….fantastic.
We will rest here for a few days and hope that the weather breaks.
