Day 52 Tata
Another warm night due mainly to the fact we leave the electric heating on. The electric hook up is less that £1 per night here.
It didn\’t rain so we had a pleasant day and was getting warmer this afternoon. We took the mobility scooter together with our chariot for Tina up to town to try and find the market and get some shopping done. On the paved pavements the chariot was shaking violently and making alot of noise. Tina didn\’t appreciate the level of noise. As we approached the market we realised that we had lost yet another of the nuts holding the chariot to the scooter so we had to abandon the idea of pulling it and detached it and carried it separately.
We bought a few vegetables and nuts in the market which is now in a dedicated space further along the road where it was 7 years ago. At least now it was under cover so the traders could keep dry if it rained. The prices being charged were unbelievably cheap…. just a few pence for the items we bought. On the way back to the centre of town Tina spied a shop where she could buy the teapot she had been looking for. In the souks we visited in places we have already been too they wanted around £25-30 yet today she bought exactly what she wanted for less than $3.
We got back to the hire street and stopped for coffee in one of the many cafes. They were showing the early afternoon match from the English premier league and we had some banter with the locals.
On our way back to the van we were able to see the entrance road to the adjacent campsite where the river had already reduced significantly but still had a few inches of water covering the road.
This afternoon I watched the AFCB away match with Wolves and can\’t be happier as we got our first away win for a very long time.
We could risk moving on tomorrow but we are still unsure of the ability to get all the way to our destination so we have decided to stay here until Monday.
