Day 7 – Estepona
Today was always going to be a day when we went a little slower…
We woke later than we had done the last few days. It was actually light when we got up. It had rained during the night and there were still one or two showers early morning but soon after breakfast it cleared up and the sun shone. The Saturday market had been setting up in the market since 8:00am so when we left the vans it was really up and running mid morning.
Tina bought a couple of items of clothing and we bought berries and nuts for my ongoing \”Herbalife adventure” as Krish would say. Later Tina went and bought some more milk from Aldi whilst I went back to the van and kept the “boys” company.
After lunch we travelled on down to the campsite where we will be joined by some of the others we are crossing to Morocco with. Very soon after our arrival we got speaking to a van that was already in place who was part of our group. They were going to Gibraltar tomorrow and meeting us on Wednesday at Algeciras.. Another couple arrived after about an hour who we had met last year and they were staying just the one night and then planning to cross to Tangier Med on Monday. Brian & Ann arrived later in the afternoon. so we had 5 vans here that will be crossing mid next week and we still have 3-4 vans due over the next few days.
My new MIFI that I bought whilst we were travelling in France was waiting in reception for me to collect. Whilst changing the sim card in my Netgear one of the pins broke so it was necessary for me to get an alternate shipped to our only certain address here in southern Spain.
It was pleasantly warm in the afternoon at a balmy 22ºC. very pleasant and very different to the UK after learning about the weather from my mother. She still hasn’t grasped that we will be in another continent on Thursday let alone another country. Tomorrow is going to be washing and sorting out the van and generally enjoying the warmer temperatures.
